The first ring of the newly restored bells of St Peter’s Church in Ruthin takes place on September 8. The service of thanksgiving will celebrate both the return of the peal of eight and restoration work carried out on the church roof.
The bells, which date from the nineteenth century, have been repaired, restored and re-tuned at Taylor’s Foundry in Loughborough. The ringing room has been refurbished and a new bell frame installed to make the bells easier and safer to ring. The church will be conducting tours of the bell tower on Saturday 7 September as part of the Ruthin Open Doors weekend.
